Burgh de Rott is a ramshackle yet crucial town nestled in the southernmost corner of Morytania in Old School RuneScape (OSRS). To start "Priest in Peril," speak to King Roald in Varrock Palace. The quest tasks you with helping a priest escape from the temple of Paterdomus, which separates Morytania from the rest of Gielinor. Completing it takes roughly 30 minutes and rewards you with access to Morytania, including the town of Canifis-a key hub for later quests.

Quest Requirements to Enter Burgh de Rott

Burgh de Rott is closely tied to the Myreque questline, and you cannot enter the town until you start the quest "In Aid of the Myreque." However, this quest has its own prerequisites, so you'll need to complete a few quests first to unlock it.

Step 1: Complete "Nature Spirit"

"Nature Spirit" is a short quest that teaches you how to protect yourself from ghasts-dangerous creatures in the Mort Myre Swamp, which you'll pass through to reach Burgh de Rott. To start, speak to Drezel in the Paterdomus Temple (near the entrance to Morytania). The quest requires no skill levels and takes about 20 minutes to finish. After "Nature Spirit," you need to complete "In Search of the Myreque," which introduces you to the Myreque rebels- a group fighting against the vampyre overlords of Morytania. This quest has a few more requirements: 25 Agility, the ability to defeat a level 97 enemy, and completion of "The Restless Ghost" (a quick novice quest).

Start the quest by talking to Vanstrom Klause in the Hair of the Dog Tavern in Canifis. The quest involves infiltrating a vampyre stronghold and rescuing Myreque members, and it takes around 45 minutes to complete. By the end, you'll gain access to the Myreque's secret hideout, where you'll meet Veliaf Hurtz-the NPC who starts the next quest.

The final step to unlock Burgh de Rott is to start "In Aid of the Myreque." This quest becomes available immediately after finishing "In Search of the Myreque," and you can start it by speaking to Veliaf Hurtz in the Myreque hideout.

"In Aid of the Myreque" has a few skill requirements: 25 Crafting, 15 Mining, and 7 Magic (to cast the Level 1 Enchant spell). You'll also need to bring specific items, including planks, nails, a hammer, and food-but the quest helper plugin (available on RuneLite) will highlight exactly what you need.

You don't need to complete the entire quest to enter Burgh de Rott. Once you reach the part where Veliaf sends you to investigate the town, you'll be able to pass through the gate. Simply place a piece of food in the chest near the gate, and the local villager Florin will let you enter-no more rotten tomatoes thrown your way!

Traveling to Burgh de Rott

Once you've unlocked access, there are several ways to travel to Burgh de Rott, depending on your progress and available items. The most straightforward route is on foot, but there are faster methods for seasoned players.

On Foot (Beginner-Friendly)

From Canifis, head south through the Mort Myre Swamp. Use your Druid Pouch to collect Mort Myre Fungi, which repel ghasts-this is essential to avoid taking constant damage. Follow the path south until you reach Mort'ton, then continue south across the bridge to Burgh de Rott. The journey takes about 10–15 minutes, so bring food to heal from any monster attacks.

Teleport Methods (Faster Travel)

For faster travel, use the Ectophial (rewarded from the "Ghosts Ahoy" quest) to teleport to Port Phasmatys. From there, head east through the Mort Myre Swamp to Burgh de Rott-this cuts the travel time in half.

If you've completed the Morytania Diary, you can use the Burgh de Rott teleport from the Morytania Diary rewards. This is the fastest method, as it teleports you directly to the town's entrance.

What to Do After Entering Burgh de Rott

Once you're in Burgh de Rott, you'll find a town in disrepair-but it's full of useful features once you repair them. The bank, for example, is the closest bank to popular areas like the Barrows, Tarn's Lair, and the Abandoned Mine. To use it, you'll need 5 planks, 1 swamp paste, and 20 nails to repair it.

You'll also have access to the Temple Trekking/Burgh de Rott Ramble minigame, which rewards you with valuable items like the Lumberjack Outfit (a must-have for Woodcutting training) and Tomes of Learning. To play, talk to one of the villagers near the town gate and escort them through Morytania-just be prepared for combat, as the minigame is not safe.
