These are applications that are designed to run across a large number of servers, where the aggregate performance of many efficient cores is more important than the single-threaded performance of a few powerful cores. This includes web hosting, containerized microservices, in-memory caches and databases (like Redis and Memcached), big data processing, and certain types of high-performance computing (HPC). For these workloads, the ability to pack a very high number of power-efficient ARM cores into a single rack translates directly into lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
